FILM: NOSFERATU

With Saturday marking Halloween, there will many looking to embrace the season without having to hit the cobbled streets in last-minute fancy dress. Fortunately, Edinburgh’s Usher Hall theatre has a truly spooky alternative with a screening of the silent horror classic Nosferatu accompanied by a live organ score from accomplished organist Donald MacKenzie. The Usher Hall’s gothic interior and high ceilings makes for a perfect setting for those looking to be chilled to the bone.

FOOD AND DRINK: THE STREATERY

Following on from their launch event in September, The Streatery team are returning The Briggait for their second street food festival. The Halloween ‘Spook Feast’ will feature stalls from some of the big names of Glasgow’s cuisine scene, including Bombay Street Food Kitchen, Firebird Alfresco and Aye Love Real Food. There’s a mixture of live music, kids activities and enough great fare to leave you fit to burst.

MUSIC: BELLE & SEBASTIAN

Jangly Glaswegian indie-pop outfit Belle & Sebastian will be taking to the stage in Dunfermline on Sunday, bringing with them a whole set of songs from their 2015 album Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance as well as a number of classics from their revered back catalogue. The Glasgow outfit continue to be one of the most country’s most adored bands and their live shows are famous for their surging positivity.
