The female stars sang a number of their most popular hits at the event, in front of 450 women at Edinburgh’s Prestonfield House Hotel.

The annual event raised more than £200,000 for the trust, a charity which gives support to disadvantaged young people, particularly those who have have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law.

Among the items up for auction yesterday was one of Andy Murray’s racket bags from this year’s Wimbledon championships final, which he had filled with a number of goodies from the London tennis club and also a signed tennis ball.

His items, which were donated to the trust by the double grand slam winner’s mother Judy, sold for £80,000.

Murray’s donation also included the chance to join his mother at the opening of next year’s Wimbledon championships.
