Theatre review: When Alice (Cooper) Met (Prince) HarryLaughing Horse @ The Free Sisters (Venue 272)

A CLOWN who is obsessed with Prince Harry witnesses a theatre lecturer being knocked down at Holyrood, pinches her bag and her identity, and gives the “free talk” for which the lecturer had been handing out flyers.

RATING: * *

Of course, she has no idea what the bullet points on the lecturer’s speech cards refer to so, with the help of an audience member she tries to improvise her way through it.

This show is, frankly, bonkers and it runs out of steam half-way through. But what redeems it is the comedy talent of Audrey Hepburn-soundalike Alice Mary Cooper, who provides a couple of laugh-out-loud moments and whose facial expressions are a delight – not least when she eats a tea bag in front of Harry.

Until 26 August. Today 2:05pm.
