Theatre review: Those People
My ParentstheSpace @ Jury’s Inn (Venue 260)

This one-man show from young actor Chris Matragos is played with a bit of spirit, but his material is light on substance and the performance isn’t good enough to resolve this.

RATING: * *

Matragos plays teenager Michael, who has a sulky disregard for his boorish father and chatterbox alcoholic mother, and an interest in typical teen hijinks – girls, drink and sneaking out to parties.

Both performance and performer are lightweight but cheerily engaging, it’s just that the play feels more like a classroom presentation with a hideously truncated ending than a structured piece of theatre with a point to make.
