Theatre review: Forgotten Heroes, C Nova (Venue 145), Edinburgh

A CHILD trapped in a man’s body learns the hard way that doing the right thing isn’t always rewarded. It’s a nice premise for a subverted one-man morality tale, delivered by Irish writer/ performer Ronan Geoghegon, but takes a long time to get anywhere.

With no set, it’s a piece that replies on the strength of the writing and acting, and while the script potters along gently, it could be clearer why Emmett behaves the way he does. He’s a potentially intriguing character, but without sufficient insight it’s difficult to care what happens to him.
