Theatre review: The Big Bite-size Breakfast, Pleasance Dome, Bristo Square

IF there’s one show worth getting up early for, it’s this. A firm Fringe favourite, its success lies in the fact that each menu (three different themed shows, containing five short plays) is well written, well cast and well directed. ****

It helps that you receive a cup of coffee and a croissant; ensuring onlookers are in receptive mood. This hour-long show also benefits from in-the-round seating, and if you don’t like one ‘slice’, then chances are you will the next.

Menu 3 features a suicidal man ready to jump off a building; a female meeting the ‘man’ of her dreams; and a 17-year-old cat in need of a liver
transplant.

A tried and tested recipe; breakfast is rarely this exciting.
