Scots CIA hacker’s story set to be made into play

A Scots hacker, who took on the CIA from his home on a remote Scottish island is to have his story turned into a stage play.

Jake Davis from Yell, ended up on the CIA’s wanted list when he and Mustafa al-Bassam of South London, went on a high profile hacking spree in 2011. Davis was chief promoter for the ‘hacktivist collective’ Anonymous when he was just 18, the group targeted such high profile companies as Mastercard, Sony and News International. This led to them being sought after by the CIA, who they had also targeted, and ended with them being dubbed them the ‘most wanted cyber criminals on the planet’.

Davis was later arrested at his home in 2011 on suspicion of more than 80 charges of conspiracy, pled guilty to two of them and was later barred from the internet for two years.

He is now 21 and living in London and the Sunday Mail have revealed he is now working with the Royal Court Theatre and writer Tim Price to create a fictional account based on him and Mustafa’s exploits. Vicky Featherstone, the theatre’s artistic director said: “As a mother of teenagers, I feel I understand why they did what they did.”
