Review: Poison, C nova (Venue 145)

Coming across like an underacted and particularly ill-scripted episode of Made in Chelsea, Ross Anderson’s four-hander, produced by Lonhattan Theatre Group, opens with loved-up couple, Rachel and Matt, celebrating her pregnancy.* *

Chuffed though he is, Matt later proves unable to resist the temptations offered by Rachel’s cocaine-loving banker brother Toby, while her whacked-out alcoholic sister Julia is another spectre at the feast. Tragedy ensues, in duly cautionary fashion, all ultimately the fault, supposedly, of the siblings’ insufficiently loving parents.

Until 18 August. Today 2pm.
