Review: Leather, C nova (Venue 145)

Reservoir Dogs meets DFS in this violent gang drama revolving around a load of knock-off leather sofas. *

Martyn Horner-Glister is excellent as the criminal boss, but has clearly lost his way to the Royal Shakespeare Company and wandered into this overacted student drama filled with killing, coke-snorting and grimy sex.

Writer/director Dean Graham’s script is difficult to take seriously when it’s delivered so melodramatically with equally in-ya-face music and lighting.
