Pantomime preview: Puss in Boots at Brunton Theatre

THE wicked witch Wysteria has her heart set on Musselburgh’s silly King McMuckletts, in the first of this year’s panto offerings.

As ever, the Brunton Theatre opens ahead of the rest next week, with Puss In Boots, written by one time Emmerdale script writer Philip Meeks.

Back in panto-land, if Wysteria doesn’t get her way she’ll set her son, the ogre Rumbletum loose, and there’s no knowing what damage his two big left feet will do.

Princess Fiona is desperate to find a hero to save the day, but it looks like it’s a lost cause. But Wysteria’s magic backfires and when Puss in Boots arrives in town it soon becomes clear that the folk who are destined to save the day are Dame Doris Dimple’s two silly lads Jamie and Rory.

Directed by Tim Licata, Puss in Boots features Stephen Docherty as dame, Tranent funny man Scott Glynn as Rumbletum and Isabella Jarrett as the witch.
