Livingston ladies leave modesty in the wings

THE ladies of Livingston Players will be hoping they have the central heating turned up full at Livingston’s Howden Park Centre next week, when they bare all in Time Firth’s bitter-sweet comedy Calendar Girls.

Based on an uplifting, inspiring and true story, Calendar Girls follows the exploits of a group of extraordinary members of a very ordinary Women’s’ Institute in rural Yorkshire, who spark a global phenomenon when they disrobe for a charity calendar.

Quirky, poignant and hilarious, the show has long been a favourite on the touring circuit, but the script has only just been made available for amateurs to perform.

It seems to have been a popular decision, already Livingston Players have sold more than 2,000 tickets making many nights a sell-out.

All profits from this production go to Leukaemia & Lymphoma (Scotland), so be sure to book yours now to avoid disappointment.
