Kids show review: Mr Snot Bottom’s Stinky Silly Show, Gilded Balloon, Teviot

JIM Carrey-style character Mr Snot Bottom describes himself as a deeesssgusting kids’ comedian, so I was prepared for a lot of toilet humour which, of course, children love. And I was right. Bums, snot, farts – anything disgusting and gross is here.

Mr Snot Bottom’s Stinky Silly Show

Gilded Balloon, Teviot

Star rating: *

The target audience of five to ten-year-olds did laugh, but any adult saying the words bum, snot and fart often enough will make this age group laugh.

Little or no rapport was built with the audience, and one poor child was brought on-stage and humiliated in a poor fart joke routine. Assisting Mr Snot were a professional hanky called Derek and Phlegm, who wants to sing to the audience. Nothing funny there. In fact, the funniest thing was when a child chose a container of armpit hair as a prize instead of a bag of sweets.

At £10 a ticket, this is a very expensive outing. Save your money – say bum, fart and poos a lot, make your children laugh, and then go to something more entertaining.
