Festival preview: Iain Stirling, Happy to be the Clown?; Udderbelly
Stirling first burst onto the comedy scene whilst studying for a Law degree at Edinburgh University, reaching the finals of both the Paramount Funniest Student competition in 2009 and the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year, the same year. Just one week after graduating, he found himself on a train down to London to begin presenting on CBBC and two years later received a BAFTA nomination for Best Children’s Presenter. Now, having previously supported the likes of Russell Kane and Rhod Gilbert he’s here in his own right.
Ever wondered why your life ended up the way it did? Stirling does, in his show he attempts to work out why he is such a clown. Covering topics as diverse as trains, Hinduism and Cliff Richard.
