Edinburgh Festival Fringe: Clowning for charity

LAST week’s cover stars, Frehd Astarr and Tim Eee the clowns, will be donating £1 from each ticket sold for tomorrow’s performance of Ta Daaa! to the Heart Foundation.

The gesture is in memory of Astarr’s friend Nerija who passed away while Astarr was in Edinburgh for the Fringe in 2008.

Nerija Zemkalnis, who was just 31, was an integral part of Melbourne’s thriving comedy scene, co-creating the legendary Spinning Wheel, cabaret club.

Each year Austrailian Astarr hosts some drinks in memory of Zemkalnis but because she is doing a show this year, she isn’t able to.
