Come fly with the latest Rat Pack

OL’ Blue Eyes is back in town... well not quite. However, on Saturday there will be a chance to catch the next best thing as The Rat Pack Vegas Spectacular swings into the Edinburgh Playhouse.

Over the years, Hollywood’s famous Rat Pack may have seen its line-up change, but today three names remain synonymous with the group of popular American entertainers Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr and, of course, Frank Sinatra.

This weekend, the self-proclaimed ‘purveyors of cool’ are set to serenade the Capital’s lounge lizards while whisking them back in time to the musical heyday of Las Vegas.

Of course, with classic songs such as Come Fly With Me, Mr Bojangles, Lady Is A Tramp, That’s Amore, Mack The Knife and New York, New York, it’s easy to evoke memories of Sinatra, Martin and Davis.

The brainchild of Wayne Kennedy, who made his Rat Pack solo debut as Martin in 2002, the show has evolved over the years and is now a full blown production that has toured to major venues all around the world.

On Saturday at the Playhouse Kennedy will be joined on stage by Roman Marek, a finalist in the first series of The X Factor, as Sinatra and James Jr as Davis.

Hip, cool and a with a timeless soiree, the Rat Pack were the epitome of the hottest party around.

So, if you wish you’d been able to swing with the hardest partying pack in town but just weren’t around, now’s your chance.

The Rat Pack Vegas Spectacular, Edinburgh Playhouse, Greenside Place, Saturday, 7.30pm, £17-£21, 0844-871 3014
