Snoop Dogg added to T in the Park line-up

SNOOP Dogg has become the latest act to be confirmed for this year’s T in the Park, as the festival celebrates its 20th anniversary.

The rapper, real name Calvin Broadus, is making his second appearance at the festival after his first performing in 2005.

Aside from his involvement in music for the best part of the last 20 years, Snoop has collaborated with a number of hip hop acts as well as enjoying a successful career as a TV and movie actor. He also stars in his own video game, and founded and now coaches a youth football league.

The rapper has also expressed an interest in getting involved with Celtic, saying he wanted to lead the team out against Juventus in their recent match at Celtic Park.

Due to release his 12th studio album within weeks - the first under his recently-adopted moniker of Snoop Lion - Snoop’s appearance has delighted Festival Director Geoff Ellis, who said:

“He is a true legend and one of the most influential rap stars of all time. His first and only T in the Park performance so far back in 2005 was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our 20 year history, and we’re hugely excited to bring him back to Scotland.

“I can’t wait to see what he’s got in store for us this year.”

George Kyle, Head of Sponsorship at Tennent’s Lager, added: “T in the Park continues to attract some of the greatest artists in the world, and Snoop Dogg is no exception. The 20th year is shaping up to be a wonderful weekend, and we can’t wait to celebrate 20 years of putting the T in T in the Park with the greatest audience in the world this July.”
