Snap up two tickets for the price of one

SPECIAL double tickets are to go on sale that provide entry to two major exhibitions coming to the Capital.

The work of both William Wegman, famous for his photographs of his family of Weimaraner dogs, and US photographer Edward Weston will go on show at the council-owned City Art Centre for nearly three months from 31 July.

Council officials plan to charge 8 for adult tickets that provide entry to both exhibitions. Concessions would pay 5, with children aged 5-16 paying 2.50.

Officials have estimated that 25,000 paying visitors will attend, which they hope would cover the 175,000 total cost of staging the exhibitions. Any surplus will go into the council's special exhibitions fund.

Jim Inch, director of the council's corporate services department, said: "The exhibitions to be displayed at the City Art Centre in the summer of 2010 have a strong photographic element and should prove popular with residents and visitors."
