THE Grammy awards proved to be another night of glittering success for the British music industry, with Adele, Mumford and Sons and Sir Paul McCartney among those honoured.

And with the Brit award set to be held on February 20, there’s never been a better time to inspire the next generation of musical talent, whatever their age.

The classic starter instrument for any youngster is still the recorder, and just in case that’s not cool enough to get their musical talents going Edinburgh’s Rae Macintosh store has paired it up with an easy-to-learn songbook featuring tunes from the smash-hit film High School Musical.
