Saltire raised on Stirling Bridge

A memorial has been unveiled at the site of a Scottish victory in the First War of Scottish Independence.

William Wallace and Andrew de Moray - who led Scotland to victory at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297 - were remembered today as

a Saltire flag is raised to the top of a permanent flagpole.

Around two hundred people attended the unveiling of first ever joint memorial to honour the two ‘Guardians of Scotland’.
