Q: Ms Lindsay Baxter, from western Australia, has been scratching her head over a picture of her dad, James Russell Baxter, marrying her mother, Catherine Jane Sinclair MacDonald. The wedding took place on November 15, 1947 at Newington South and Hope Park Church. She is seeking information about the wedding party and wants to track down the bridesmaids, the groomsman and a small child who joined them.

Q: Eric Winning is still on the case: “I am trying to locate a 1934 Morris Minor car which was owned by my father and myself from 1938 to 1957. Its registration at the time was JB3369. I sold the car in the mid-1980s to a dealer who then sold it on to Tony Foot, who lived in Oxford. The dealer sold the registration to someone in Scotland. I lost contact with Tony Foot but have just made contact with his son to find that Tony had died. He had carried out a lot of restoration work but was unable to complete it, having moved to Portsmouth without suitable premises to work. So the car was sold and it followed its old number plate to Scotland and was bought by the owner of ‘a very small family-owned garage in Scotland’.”
