Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton is pregnant

Fearne Cotton has announced that she is expecting her first child, with boyfriend Jesse Wood, son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood.

Cotton made the announcement via Twitter, posting: “Jesse and I have some news!!!!”, followed by a link to a post on her blog which read: ‘Some lovely news... Jesse and I are very happy to announce we are having a baby. We are over the moon, morning sickness aside (me, not Jess) and looking forward to the little Cotton Wood’s arrival.’ She has not revealed when she is due to give birth.

Cotton and Wood, who is a musician and model best known for appearing in a Burberry campaign alongside other rock offspring including Bryan Ferry’s sons Isaac and Otis and Keith Richards’ daughters Theodora and Alexandra, have been in a relationship since July 2011. Wood has two children from his marriage to model Tilly Boone.

Cotton’s celebrity friends were quick to congratulate her on Twitter, with best friend Holly Willoughby posting: “Just the best news! @Fearnecotton welcome to motherhood my darlin! Love you loads!!!! Xxx”. Celebrity Juice colleague Leigh Francis wrote: “I am so happy for you Fearne. Honestly. Greatest news ever. Can’t wait to see your milk trucks. Love Keith x”

Radio 1 have announced that Sara Cox will take over presenting Cotton’s late morning show while she is on maternity leave.
