We Were Promised Jetpacks for Stag & Dagger
Multi-venue Glasgow festival Stag & Dagger is back on Saturday, May 18, with the first line-up announcement topped by We Were Promised Jetpacks (pictured).
Other names confirmed this week are: Fatherson, Mac DeMarco, Wolf People, Temples, Widowspeak, How To Dress Well, Hudson Taylor, Hawk Eyes, Kitty The Lion, United Fruit and Brave (formerly known to Radar readers as Midnight Lion).

Electric Circus plans Big Day In
The Electric Circus in Edinburgh has announced its own all-day festival. Running from 3pm right through till 3am, Big Day In is the venue’s first ever all-day, all-night festival and will be headlined by Manchester band Dutch Uncles.
There is a definite electronic edge to proceedings, with Discopolis, Errors (DJ set), Dems, The Machine Room, Jonnie Common and Machines in Heaven also confirmed for the event on Sunday, May 5.

Kelburn Garden Party line-up revealed
Continuing the festival news, last week the Kelburn Garden Party announced its 2013 line-up, which is headlined by Mr Scruff and Trojan Soundsystem. The weekender takes place at Kelburn Castle near Largs on July 6 and 7.
Other bands confirmed for the festival include: Hidden Orchestra, Conquering Animal Sound, Hector Bizerk, White Heath and Second Hand Marching Band. Check out the full programme -http://www.kelburngardenparty.com/programme/

New music
• If you like polished guitar pop, check out the new single from Glasgow band Galleries. Midnight Rush is released on April 1, and is taken from their forthcoming debut album.

• The Deadline Shakes garnered a fair smattering of attention last year with the single Sweeten the Deal. The Glasgow band follow that with the summery, expansive song Boy, which was released this week.
• Sparrow and the Workshop have released a new video for the song Shock Shock. It’s available as a free download (https://soundcloud.com/songbytoad/sparrow-and-the-workshop), and is taken from the forthcoming album Murderopolis, which is released on May 28 on Song, by Toad Records.
