T Break 2013 acts revealed

The judges have deliberated and decided, and the 16 acts chosen to play for T Break at this year’s T in the Park festival have been announced. Drumroll… they are:

Arches / Blindfolds / DARC / Fake Major / Hector Bizerk / Honeyblood / Machines In Heaven / Michael Cassidy / Poor Things / Pronto Mama / Seams / Sunshine Social / The Merrylees / The Velveteen Saints / Vasa / Waiting For Go

The acts were chosen by a 14-member judging panel of industry professionals and journalists. T in the Park takes place at Balado, near Kinross between 12 – 14 July.

Wee Chill reveals 10th birthday line-up

Glasgow’s Wee Chill mini-fest is 10 years old, and to mark this milestone, they have announced a line-up headlined by James Yorkston, in his collaborative debut with Sparrow and the Workshop.

Other names confirmed for the event at SWG3 on Saturday, June 29 are former Arab Strap bandmates Malcolm Middleton and Aidan Moffat (spoken word), Three Blind Wolves, Roddy Hart & The Lonesome Fire, Grant Campbell, Miaoux Miaoux, The People, Daniel Meade, Prides and Fake Major.

Doune the Rabbit Hole guest stages

The organisers of Doune the Rabbit Hole have announced the full line-up for their guest stage, which is curated by music website Ten Tracks on the Friday and cross-genre event programmers Neu! Reekie! on the Saturday.

The full Guest Stage line-up is as follows:

Doune the Rabbit Hole, which takes place at Cardross Estate at Port of Menteith, Stirlingshire from August 22 – 25, has already announced some of its line-up, with tickets available via the official website.

• New York singer-songwriter and founder of the Antifolk movement Lach has been announced as the executive producer at Edinburgh venue Henry’s Cellar Bar. In addition to his weekly radio nights on Wednesdays, Lach will also re-launch his Antihoot Open Stage on Mondays all year round, starting on May 27.

• Camera Obscura are offering the song ‘Fifth in Line for the Throne’ in exchange for an email address via their website . It’s taken from their new album Desire Lines, which is out on June 3.

• Sparrow and the Workshop also have a freebie for their fans. The trio have posted the song ‘The Faster You Spin’ as a free download on SoundCloud. It’s the second single from their upcoming album Murderopolis, which is out next week.

• Garden of Elks‘ debut EP ‘Extended Play’, is out now, available to purchase from their website and stream on SoundCloud.
