In pictures: the Eligibles 2014 party

WHAT does it mean to be eligible? Many people have asked that over the past few weeks, so let’s be clear from the outset – it is about much more than just beauty or wealth or achievements.

It’s not enough to be single either. It’s about celebrating life, about having a great attitude, and yes, succeeding in your field, whatever that may be. So when Spectrum threw its annual Eligibles party, we knew it would be an eventful night.

Hosted by Edinburgh’s George Street Bar and Grill, the Glenmorangie cocktails were flowing, the Innis & Gunn beer was on ice and the Aperol Spritz pop-up bar was at the ready for an invited guest list of more than 150 of Scotland’s most influential people – the Eligibles, their friends, and movers and shakers from the worlds of film, television, politics, business, fashion, food, charity and sport.

There were performances from comedian Keara Murphy and Gaelic singer Joy Dunlop. The fun continued into the wee small hours as friends were made and numbers exchanged… but was there anything more? Spectrum is awaiting the call to buy a hat.
