Highland Heights - David Rodigan MBE

Edinburgh based imprint Highland Heights celebrate their label launch with special guest DJ Sir David Rodigan. The veteran radio jock has been at the forefront of the Reggie/Dancehall scene, DJing for the majors - BBC Radio 1, Capital Radio, Kiss FM and many more. His spirited performances, massive sound system and rare groove selections have elevated the man to the status of living legend. Featuring support from Cadenza, Big n’ Bashy and Atlas. Temple

Big student night features weekly prizes, themed clubbing, face painters, live drummers and DJs spanning three rooms. DJ Dooli spinning house & electro in room one, Dansco & Beef playing out hip hop and R n’ B, with Spanky heading up the disco room. Fly Club - The Jillionaire (Major Lazer)

Major Lazer is perhaps one of the most successful commercial dance projects in recent years, club hit ‘Pon de floor’ was sampled for Beyonce’s ‘Run the world (girls)’. Major Lazer is all about energy - fusing Caribbean rhythms, big room house and indie dance. Fridays guest DJ Jillionaire, joined Major Lazer in 2011, a partnership with Diplo which has help produce the new album, ‘Free the Universe’. Friday, 8th Feb, Cab Vol, Blair St, 11pm - 3am, £5

Club Oxygen

Was one of the original trance nights in the burgh, returning this Friday with the best selection of big room house, trance and Dutch bangers. Residents Johan Van Alphen (Amsterdam), Ross Jackson and Deejay Archy are joined by Edinburgh’s own Tommy Kay (Luvely). Friday, 8th Feb, The Annexe, Cowgate, 10pm - 3am, £5/£7

Club Houch and Perversity

A collection of Edinburgh DJs mixing up hi-nrg house and big room trance anthems. Featuring deck skills of Simon McLeod and Jason Cortez (Nuklear Puppy), Ross Dixon and Urban Atmosphere (Perversity) with DJ duo, Gregsta and Stevie Carnie (Club Mercado and Hot Boxx). Including a special guest appearance from Italian trance DJ, Claud Santo. Saturday, 9th Feb, Liquidrooms, Victoria St, 10pm - 3am, £8/£10

Club 10-86 Pres. Mike Humpries (Mastertraxx)

This small techno night has seen some messy nights - DJ bookings which are all about loosing it as opposed to who’s in Vogue is, perhaps a promoters nightmare. However, if you are after the spirit of underground clubbing, then look no further.

MASTERTRAXX is one of the best underground techno labels, run by headliner, Mike Humpries. Expect driving techno, dark and intense (Tresor style) - with support from Gordon Barclay, Warner Powers and Zuni (Tribal Waves). Saturday, 9th Feb, The Annexe, Cowgate, 10.30pm - 3am, £7

Rendez-Vous vs. Syndicate

Rendez-Vous specialise in avante garde house and nu-disco. Residents Blair and Ryan Harrower, with Ross Scott, Gary Carvel, and Steven Willison provide the sounds in room one. Craig Smith (6th Borough Project) is joined by Stephen Rodgers (Elements of Soul). Stephen’s diverse sets cover the full spectrum of House which cover a lot of ground, from Detroit to New York to Chicago - expect a mixture of hidden gems from past and present. While in room two, Ali Herron (OOFT Music)will play out a selection of pitched-down deep house tracks.
