TWO ZEBRAS Pres. Melé /Kidnap kid / Hostage / Kottis /David Thomas (DARC)

Old school meets the nu skool and with devastating effect. A bass heavy sound pushes this pool of new producers forward. By fusing elements of house (rhythms), hip hop (snares) and grime (bass) with early rave (riffs) they have created a fresh underground sound. This is the best alternative student night and for anyone wanting to hear what’s really happening right now.

Dress up for temples ‘zoo-inspired’ fun as part of their re-fresher’s week (part 2). There will be a competition for the best dressed animal, so make an effort and release the beast within. Spread over three rooms featuring DJ Dooli’s electro-house in room one, Dansco & Beef waxing hip hop and R n’ B in room two, and Sparky adding old school flavour with anthems from the 70’s/80’s/90’s & 00’s.

French DJ Plezier is heavily influenced by UK garage, grime and funky, deep house. He’s been snapped up by MOS to provide re-rubs of their big club tunes which has gained him further recognition and DJ slots on BBC Radio 1xtra. Expect Old skool vibes and intensely blissed-out vibe that’ll have you losing it. Support comes from Sub Club’s Beta & Kappa and DJ Greenman.

BROKE! Re-Fresher’s Part 2

Edinburgh’s biggest student club night coated in so much cheddar you would be surprised if DJ Stilton wasn’t headlining. Fortunately or unfortunately (whatever way you look at it) Johnny Frenetic (house & electro) is on hand to head up a DJ trio over three rooms, including The Mixmaster Twins (hip hop and R n’ B), and Gus Bain (uber cheese 70’s – current).

AXIS - DUKE DUMONT (Turbo Recordings)

A big gun this weekend is , who scooped the Diesel U Music award and cut one of Fabric’s most successful and coveted mix CD’s - Fabric:51. The Londoner is an exceptional DJ, there is a distinct late 80’s/early 90’s warehouse vibe about his music. Crossover sounds merge somewhere between retro techno and deep house with sailing vocals, Dumont goes deep. If you are into the warehouse revival sound – whether you are techno or house, you’ll ‘get it’ from Dumont. Support from Edinburgh’s Oxygen Junkies and ‘We Own’s; Kottis – not to be missed.

SOULOCO – EJECA

Ejeca makes his Edinburgh debut on Saturday night headlining Souloco’s 3rd Birthday party. Best known for a pure ‘club’ house sound, Ejeca is influenced by the 90’s uk garage-house scene. Experimenting with disco, deep house and techno he has created his own emotive club sound. Support comes by way of resident DJs, Jamie McKenzie and Kirk Douglas with ZZZAP DJs (David-George & Dickie) in room 2. There is a pre-party kicking off early in Bar Soba – Edinburgh’s hottest new bar/restaurant just off George st.

GASOLINE DANCE MACHINE – RESIDENTIAL VIEWING

GDM showcase all the home grown talent the residents have to offer with Residential Viewing. In the main room Cheap Picasso go back to back all night while Rob Ralston spins in room two as Martin Valentine and Steven Wanless keep it deep in the Café Voltaire. Expect classic italo, electronic, house and disco, and GDM’s trade mark pop synths a plenty.

WASABI DISCO - GK MACHINE

Glasgow’s GK Machine headlines alongside Kris Wasabi, for the best collection of leftfield electronica in the Burgh. GK’s residencies have included Glasgow Art School, Voodoo Rooms, and The Berceley Suite. Expect everything from Chic to Nitzer Ebb, Prince to Carl Craig, Throbbing Gristle to Mr Fingers and everything in-between.

PROPAGANDA – PIRATES PARTY

The largest indie night in Edinburgh which nets thousands of revellers is throwing a Pirate themed night with pirate décor, free eye patches and a brilliant selection of music – new and classic indie, anthems, filthy electro, hip hop and dubstep. The only night where ‘planking’ is encouraged.
