Open Space: Clatchard Quarry

This shot, looking over Clatchard Quarry in Newburgh, Fife was taken by Eddie Ross at sunrise in December. "It was 8:30am and a light covering of snow was on the ground," he says. "The low sun and the snow gave this photograph the unusual colouring." Mr Ross, a chartered civil engineer, took up photography last year after receiving a camera as a gift.

Can you do better than this? We are looking for the best amateur photography in Scotland. The choice of subject – people, industry, nature, scenery – doesn't matter. The pictures just have to be eye-catching.
