New novel for Scotsman writer

The business editor of The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday, Terry Murden, has published his debut novel.

He describes Invisible Lies as a “romantic thriller” that tells a complex story involving a former crime reporter who has turned his hand to public relations and uncovers an international crime ring that is linked to one of his business clients. The story ultimately points to a woman tortured by war and seeking her revenge.

A sub-plot to the story is the main character’s tangled love life, and the two tales manage to overlap in a tragic outcome.

Murden, 57, has drawn on 30 years experience as a financial and news journalist with The Scotsman, Sunday Times and Northern Echo to help with the storyline. An edited extract of the prologue to the book appeared in The Scotsman in June.

He says: “Every journalist believes they have a book in them. This has been a labour of love for some years and in particular the past year.”
