My little piece of Scotland: Edinburgh

MY little PIECE of Scotland is Edinburgh. As I live in a rural area of Scotland near Tighnabruaich, I love going to see my uncle in Edinburgh because there are lots of things to do. His flat is quite high up and is very close to the Omni Centre. From the window you can see the Forth Bridge.

We go to Edinburgh every few months and stay for a night or so. We often go before Christmas when we go to the fair on Princes Street.

Every time I go to Edinburgh, I love going to the Fudge Kitchen and peanut butter flavour is my favourite. Next-door is the Museum of Childhood, which is free so we go there a lot. They have a big piano thing which plays itself, which is really good.

We've been to the castle and I also like going to the museum in Chambers Street, because my mum said she would dare me to run past a giant spider crab on the wall and I did. It wasn't alive but it was huge. My brother Archie is scared the bird eating the spider will eat all the little birds in the next case, but they are all stuffed.

Once we went to Edinburgh Zoo, and I loved the penguin parade. But it rained all day and my dad had to buy a really bad plastic poncho to keep dry.

We've also been to see a ballet of Cinderella at the Festival Theatre. It was a bit disgusting at the end because the ugly sisters had their toes cut off.

When we go to the Omni Centre you can see 3D films. Recently we went to see Up in 3D and we saw Coraline there too. It really livened up the film. Afterwards we always eat pizza, either at Pizza Express or we get it delivered to the flat, which you can't do where I live.

Usually when we go to Edinburgh we get a little bit of pocket money. I like going shopping in the St James' Centre. I spend it in Claire's Accessories and get a smoothie from Zumo's.
