Modern Art Gallery set for JD Fergusson show

THE first major JD Fergusson retrospective for 40 years will open at the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh this weekend.

The show will bring together more than 100 of the Scottish Colourist’s works, and examine his importance on 20th-century art.

Major pieces in the exhibition include Fergusson’s Paris nudes from 1910, a pair of landscapes seen together for the first time in a century, and a number of his sculptures.
