The Hollywood star will reprise his role as hero Han Solo in the eagerly anticipated Episode VII – The Force Awakens.

Ford, 73, who won legions of fans for his roles in Star Wars and Indiana Jones, did not get nostalgic returning to the film franchise.

Asked what it was like to walk on to the set and see Han’s old ship the Millennium Falcon again, he said: “I’m not nostalgic. I’m doing the best job I can during the day and then going home. And, you know, it was nice to have the chance to work with people I knew... and some new people that I didn’t... But it’s just another day in the office.”

The actor recently said reuniting with Peter Mayhew, who plays Chewbacca, after 32 years, was “warm and fuzzy”.

In a magazine interview about Han and Chewie’s friendship, he said: “They were very much like an old married couple to start with. I think people will find them very much the same.”

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the seventh film in the series, sold 200,000 tickets within the first 24 hours of release.
