WHAT IS IT?

The Night Before is a festive comedy from the people behind This Is The End and The Interview. Directed by Jonathan Levine, who worked on 50/50 and Warm Bodies, The Night Before is a world away from the typically wholesome cinematic fare you get around Christmas. Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who also starred in 50/50 together, and Anthony Mackie (Captain America) lead the cast.

Childhood friends Ethan, Isaac and Chris have a decade long tradition of a Christmas Eve reunion that, as you’d expect of a Rogen film, is heavy on debauchery. As the three find themselves on the brink of adulthood, they decide to end the tradition on a high – literally – and make the night as memorable as possible. Ethan gets his hands on the holy grail of party tickets and the gang embark on a drug-fuelled journey to the Nutcracka Ball (not a typo).

DOES IT LOOK ANY GOOD?

If you’re a fan of Seth Rogen films, The Night Before will seem pretty familiar. It may not be particularly challenging, but it certainly looks better than your average Christmas film.
