Curtain up for northern film fans

FILM fans in Thurso, who currently face a 220-mile round-trip to see the latest releases, are hoping to bring an old cinema back to life.

At a public meeting this week, residents will be encouraged to support plans to reopen the Picture House, Britain’s most northerly cinema, which first opened 100 years ago. The prospective new operator is Rob Arthur of The Thurso Cinema Ltd.
