Brave art: Pixar releases trailer for its upcoming Scottish tale

Pixar has given animation fans an advance look at its latest film, Brave, the story of feisty Scottish princess Merida, voiced by Kelly Macdonald, King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson).

Set in a mythical Scotland, the latest movie from the studio behind hits like Toy Story, Finding Nemo and WALL-E, the film follows Merida’s fortunes as she rebels against her parents and unleashes chaos, forcing her to eventually set things right.

In the trailer, which was released yesterday, Merida and her red-headed siblings are shown in a medieaval Scottish castle amid tartan-clad courtiers.
