A team of experts will be tasked with instructing prospective students, who will pay £3,000 for the six-day course, about the survival techniques made famous by Grylls’ Born Survivor television series.

Grylls will also make a visit to the academy ahead of its launch on November 3.

“Am excited to head up to the Highlands soon to drop in on our first ever survival academy,” said Grylls on his Twitter account.

The course is said to be a combination of remote land and sea survival exercises and adventure tasks, which will culminate in a wilderness expedition in Sutherland’s rugged natural lanscape.

The course is also expected to be launched in the US and Africa next year.
