BAFTA Scotland has lined up the Perthshire-born star for the event at arts venue Oran Mor on 27 November.

He will appearing “in conversation” just months after a sell-out run of a cabaret show at the Edinburgh International Festival.

Cumming, who trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, found fame at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as one half of the comic duo “Victor and Barry”, with Forbes Masson.

Early TV appearances included the STV series Taggart and Take The High Road, and BBC sitcom The High Life, which reunited him with Masson, before film roles in Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Circle of Friends, The Anniversary Party and Goldeneye.

Cumming, who became a huge star in London’s West End and on Broadway for his role as the master of ceremonies in Cabaret, is best known on television for his starring role as Eli Gold in the US legal drama The Good Wife.
