Dishing up some culinary classes

STOCKBRIDGE cookery school Cookingmania has added more dates to its Express Entertaining classes owing to demand.

Culinary enthusiasts can "get ready for Christmas" at sessions on December 8, 15 and 22, from 7pm to 9pm.

Classes cost 50 per person and will focus on the creation of two dishes, allowing customers to learn new techniques and methods along the way.

n THE French restaurant L'Escargot Bleu, on Broughton Street, is holding a cheese and wine tasting evening on Friday from 4pm to 9pm.

The event takes place at L'epicerie, the French delicatessen which is situated underneath the restaurant, with experts from Herv Mons Cheese Ltd alongside Philippe Larue from the Edinburgh wine merchants L'art du Vin on hand to guide guests.
