One of the biggest clubs in Scotland was formed on this day 128 years ago.

Celtic Football Club was formally created in St Mary’s Church, on what is know Forbes Street in Glasgow on November 6, 1887. The club was originally created to help raise money for families in poverty, with the backing of the Catholic Church, and created the charity Poor Children’s Dinner Table. The first match was not played however until 1888.
