Calvin Harris' wealth up to £140m, rich list reveals

Scottish DJ Calvin Harris is among the fastest climbers on the Sunday Times' list of the richest UK musicians, with an estimated net worth of around £140m.

The Dumfries-born star, who is now based in Los Angeles, saw his net worth shoot up by £20m in 2017 to become a new entry in the list of top 20 musicians.

Harris, 34, has twice headlined the T in the Park festival and has had a string of his both on his own and as a collaborator with stars such as Dizee Rascal and Rihanna.

Sir Paul McCartney is top of the musicians rich list again, with an estimated wealth of £820m, with Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber in second place with an estimated £740m.

Older acts dominate the top 10, with Sir Elton John, the members of bands like U2 and the Rolling Stones, and Sting among those contributing to a total net worth of nearly £3bn.

Calvin Harris’ wealth puts him on an even footing with popstar Adele, who is top of the list of richest musicians under 30 in the UK and Ireland, with Ed Sheeran and the former members of One Direction dominating that list.
