For the first time, the Burrell Collection in Glasgow is devoting its main temporary gallery space to a display of its best works covering the entire 500 year span of the fine art collection. Over 40 important works from the collection will be shown together. Lucas Crannach the Elder’s 1530 painting ‘Judith with the Head of Holofernes’ is pictured. It will be the final major exhibition before its 2016 closure for refurbishment, which is expected to take four years.
