Book review: Village Teacher
It's 1980, and as recession bites, Ragley-on-the-Forest School is facing the axe.
Headteacher Jack Sheffield is worried about the future . . . will his beloved school survive the latest round of closures? And when will fiance Beth agree to a date for their wedding?

Hide AdThe stories of the pupils and staff at Ragley are deftly scripted and very funny – although there are sad moments that bring the reader back down to earth with a bang.
This is the fourth in the "Teacher" series and, once more, Jack Sheffield has used his considerable skills as a writer to relate the highs and lows of school life in the early 1980s.
Top of the class!
