Authors have the write stuff

The Gorebridge Creative Writers Group won the STV Central award at the National Scottish Adult Learning Partnership (SALP) Adult Learners Week Awards.

Councillor Peter Boyes, cabinet member for education and communities congratulated them on their award.

He said: "This is a great achievement for the Gorebridge Writers Group, who are the first group in the Midlothian area for more than ten years to get through to the SALP finals.

"They have been supported by staff in community learning and development and I would like to congratulate them on their success."

Group member, Heather Brown said: "The group write on a variety of different topics, including local murders, child-friendly green issues and psychotic lottery winners, to mention just a few."
