Anniversary celebration for Glenelg-Skye ferry
One of the longest running ferries in Scotland is to be celebrated after 45 years of transporting passengers between Glenelg and Skye.
Between Easter and October, the MV Glenachulish makes a short cross of the Kylerhea Straits between Glenelg and Kylerhea on Skye, and residents are now set to celebrate what is thought to be the last ferry or its kind in the world.
The Glenachulish was built at the Ailsa Yard in Troon in 1968 and still transports up to six cars plus foot passengers across the water.
The anniversary will be celebrated with the help of a pipeband in Glenelg.
