Album review: Kaiser Chiefs, The Future Is Medieval

Less likely candidates for a marketing innovation than the boring Kaiser Chiefs are hard to imagine, but by making 20 tracks available online, from which ten can be bought to comprise the release of our choice, the Leeds group hoped to come close.

But, to borrow one of the titles on offer, the band remain a Long Way From Celebrating, offering yet another frenetic amalgamation of terracing chant and fuzz guitar.

This less than smart record will be remembered for the smoke and mirrors long after the songs fade away.
