Theatre: Cannibal Women of Mars
Tron, Glasgow

Some theatres choose to celebrate summer with a pantomime, some simply close for a month or two. At the Tron, though, they like to let their hair down with a touch of fantastical comedy; and this year it’s an off-the-wall musical science fiction adventure penned by Belle and Sebastian star Mick Cooke, playwright Alan Wilkinson, and musician Gordon Davidson.
Music: Kenny Rogers
Tue 9 Jul @ Usher Hall, Edinburgh; more info
Wed 10 Jul @ SECC, Glasgow
The Rolling Stones made the headlines, but an even older music legend made his Glastonbury debut last week. Now Kenny Rogers is in Scotland, at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on Tuesday and Glasgow SECC on Wednesday.
Festival: T in the Park
Thu 11 Jul – Sun 14 Jul

Hide AdT in the Park requires little introduction, but one thing worth noting is that tickets are still available at this late stage for Scotland’s premier music festival. The Balado bash marks its 20th year with performances from headliners Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and The Killers, alongside the likes of Kraftwerk, Foals and Frank Ocean.

Thankfully the references to the Scientology-spouting Hollywood star stop with the spoonerised stage name; instead it’s all about American musician Seth Haley‘s formula of bleeps and beats, which have found a receptive audience following his 2011 album Galactic Melt.
