While other children splash cash on computer games, farming mad Dougie MacDonald, of Benderloch, near Oban, invests his pocket money in livestock.
The self-made businessman, whose most recent acquisition was seven Suffolk sheep, which he bought for £100 each in a private deal, earns cash by helping his father and other farmers.

Hide AdDougie now owns 21 sheep and a cow. His mum Diane MacDonald, 33, said: “Any birthday money or Christmas money he gets, he doesn’t go out and buy computer games, he puts it in his wallet – just like a farmer –and saves it until he has enough to buy a sheep.”
Mrs MacDonald added: “He has always been obsessed by farming – he has been going to the mart since before nursery.
“When he was young, he would go out of the house and gather up a lot of footballs and pretend he was feeding them.
“Even as a wee boy Dougie wouldn’t watch telly, except if it was One Man and his Dog!”
