Alloweigh Frame is Scotland's newest and (probably) youngest superhero! – Scotsman comment

Two-year-old girl from Lanark insisted that her mother come to the window to see smoke coming out of a nearby flat

“Mummy, mummy, fire, hot, fire, burny.” When Isla Frame heard her two-year-old’s cries, she was in the kitchen making dinner and initially thought young Alloweigh was worried about something on television. However, the toddler was insistent, grabbing her mother’s jeans pocket and dragging her through the house to look out a window. There, she saw smoke billowing from a nearby flat and immediately called the fire brigade.

Now Alloweigh has been given a special award at Lanark Community Fire Station, with commander Paul Mathieson saying her “quick thinking” enabled them to “act swiftly and extinguish the fire without it spreading or causing any casualties”. “For a two-year-old to have the confidence and awareness to identify that something was wrong and then alert their parents is very impressive,” he added.

There cannot be many toddlers who have made such a potentially life-saving intervention. “It’s crazy. I’m super proud of her,” her mum said. And she has every right to be. Indeed, we are confident that the whole country will be “super proud” of Alloweigh when they hear about the actions of Scotland’s newest and, probably, youngest superhero.
