London Stock Exchange flotations at 7-year high

The number of companies which floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2013 was at its highest since 2007, with 105 firms raising £15.7 billion through 43 main market listings and 62 by admission to the Alternative Investment Market (Aim).
Royal Mail Group was the largest European flotation, raising £1.7bn, while 36 technology firms raised £1bn, the highest number and value in six years. The FTSE 100 marks its 30th anniversary on Friday. Of the original constituents, 30 remain in the index.
