Scots forced to take long route to final
Scotland’s skip Tom Brewster responded to Canada’s single in the third with a draw for one shot in the fourth and then went into the half-time break 2-1 up, with a single steal in the fifth.
Canada levelled again with a single in the sixth and, in the seventh, Brewster drew again to score one and re-take the lead, by 3-2. But in the eighth, Canadian skip Glenn Howard played the shot of the match when he hit out two Scottish stones to score four and take a 6-3 lead.
Brewster counted two points in the ninth with a double take-out and the Scots forced an extra end Howard making no mistake, coming nicely into the rings for one point and a 7-6 victory.
