Britons suspected of garlic smuggling
Two Britons suspected of masterminding a smuggling ring involving more than a ton of Chinese garlic are wanted by Swedish police.
Prosecutor Thomas Ahlstrand said the men shipped the garlic to Norway by boat, where it entered the country duty-free as being in transit. They then drove it across the Swedish border, avoiding Swedish import duties.
They avoided 10 million euros (£8.1 million) in Swedish taxes through the scheme.
